FIBER OPTIC HELP ME CHOOSE PAGE
If you are requesting a quote for fiber optic light you need an illuminator plus the fiber optic cable. The 40 strand cable goes around the perimeter of the pool and the 150 strand is used for the underwater lights. Normally you need 2 lights for a small pool and 3 lights for a large pool (18 x 36 or larger).
Once you have read the Hayward catalogue recommendations on Fiber Optic Lighting and you have decided what lighting you want for your yard/pool please consider the following information:
Pool shape and dimensions including perimeter of pool.
Pool finish and color.
Relationship of pool to the house.
Possible light source location (How far from the pool)
Lighting types desiredTo do a quick calculation on the cost of Fiber Optic Lighting, you would need to do the following:
Pick the light source that you want, with remote or without a remote.
The perimeter fiber optic cable is flexible, and is approximately ¾” high by 3/8” thick. It is made by Optic Light. Their web site is at http://www.opticlight.com/. To calculate cost of perimeter fiber optic cable take the distance from the light source to the pool, around the pool and back to the light source, and add 3’. Use our price for 40 strand cable and multiply that amount by the total footage.
To calculate underwater lighting take the distance from the light source to the pool, and add a minimum of 3’. Take that distance and multiply it by the cost of the 150 strand cable. Add the cost of the light assemblies. REMEMBER NOT TO UNDER ESTIMATE THE CABLE AS IT CANNOT BE SPLICED. The underwater light location should be along the side of the pool shining away from the patio/seating area.
To calculate cost of garden lighting pick your landscape/accent fixtures and decide where you want to put each one. Run 12 strand cable to each one (one way distance) plus 3’. Add up the total and that will give you the cost of the landscape lighting.
